Groundbreaking of K-Park
On September 12, 2025, Alatau City held the groundbreaking ceremony for K-Park - a cultural and business center and a theme park dedicated to Korean culture. This first investment project of the city symbolized the official beginning of its development.
K-Park is envisioned as a space where history and modernity unite in harmony with nature. The complex will be located in the Golden District - the area of medicine, education, culture, and creative industries. Its architecture will blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, creating an oasis in the steppe.
The total green area will cover 40,000 square meters - about 20% of the current total park area across Almaty Region.
K-Park will feature:
-
a theme park with a monument of gratitude, art installations, ethnocultural zones, and a museum;
-
a cultural and business center with the office of the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan, a conference hall, a library, and exhibition spaces;
-
a 5,000-seat amphitheater, a visitor center, sports and children’s playgrounds, cafés, and Kazakhstan’s first interactive AI museum.
The project was initiated by the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan. Its construction is timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the Korean community’s presence in the country, to be commemorated in 2027.
K-Park is set to become a new point of attraction for residents and visitors of Alatau City, a space for public and business initiatives, and an example of how cultural heritage and history can serve as drivers of modern development.
