Head of Alatau City Authority Appointed

Alisher Abdykadyrov has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Alatau City Authority, the state development fund responsible for overseeing the growth of Alatau City.

Abdykadyrov brings over 15 years of experience in public administration, investment policy, and regional development. Over the years, he has held various senior positions, including Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee, Head of the Astana Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development, Deputy Akim of Karaganda Region, Vice Minister of National Economy, and Deputy Akim of Almaty.

As a reminder, the Alatau City Authority was established in September 2025 by Presidential Decree “On Certain Issues of the Development of Alatau City.” It serves as the key institutional body tasked with implementing the city’s special status as a “city of accelerated development.”

The Authority’s responsibilities include coordinating urban planning and investment projects, attracting private and international investors, introducing cutting-edge technological standards and global best practices in urban governance, and ensuring the city functions within its designated legal regime.

The highest governing body of the fund is the Alatau City Development Council.
