Continuing the Dialogue Launched in Seoul

The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev and President  & CEO of Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND), Mr. Kim Bokhwan, marked a continuation of the dialogue that began in October during the Alatau Rise with Kazakhstan roadshow in Seoul. At the event, Alatau City was presented to international partners as one of Kazakhstan`s flagship development projects.

Unlocking the Potential of Korean Business Participation

During the talks, the parties discussed the potential involvement of Korean companies in key infrastructure projects for Alatau City.

“Many Korean companies have expressed strong support for our promising Alatau Smart City project and we are truly encouraged by their interest. KIND could play a major role in infrastructure development, particularly in areas such as energy, water supply, purification, wastewater treatment, sewerage systems, and solid waste processing - whether through EPC contracts or as part of integrated development projects,” - said Kanat Bozumbayev.

Institutional Framework for Partnership

Following the meeting in Astana, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the state fund Alatau City Authority, and Korean Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND). This document lays the groundwork for continued collaboration in advancing the Alatau Smart City initiative.
